National Qualifiers Registration Timeline

Submit PreRegistration 

December 15-24, 2008

Schools are to Submit their PreRegistration estimates, judge numbers, and judge hires by the above date.  This information is essential for tournament planning, contracting with judges, and placing our order to the caterer.  All PreRegistration estimates must be based on current NFL members and chapter strength quota.

Congress Legislation Due

January 2—9, 2009

Each school may submit two pieces of legislation online.  The Clerk of Congress will preset the docket according to date of submission and topic area.  Once a complete sequence has been fully debated, the chamber may elect to modify the docket.  To see a step-by-step guided walk-through of submitting eLegislation, click here.

Early eRegistration (optional)

January 1—9, 2009

Schools may submit, for a 15% Discount, their complete registration early.  All students submitted must be registered NFL members at the time of their submission and the registration must remain unchanged; otherwise, the early eRegistration discount will not apply.   Note the Requirements Section below.  All steps must be followed to qualify for the Early eRegistration Discount.

Regular eRegistration

January  10 - 16, 2009

Schools submit their Regular eRegistration no later than 16 January 2009 at 5:00 p.m. for their registration to be considered.  All students submitted must be registered NFL members at the time of their submission; otherwise, the eRegistration will not be accepted.  Note the Requirements Section below.

Requirements following eRegistration:

 

Judges paradigms.  All LD, CX debate judges must submit an online judge paradigm.  Click on the icon to the right to go to the LD, CX Debate Judge Paradigm Submission Page.

 

Letter of Single-Intent.  All students double-entered in NFL events (DX, FX, OO, DI, HI, Duo, LD, CX, PF, and/or Congress) must fill out a Single-Intent Letter with all necessary signatures of coach, parent, and principal.  Click on icon to the right to download the Letter of Single Intent.

 

Signature forms.  All students on your team entered in Congress and/or NFL Speech/Debate must sign each form and then that form must be signed by the coach and principal.  Click on icon to the right to download the Letter of Single Intent.

 

 

 

 

On-Site Registration

January 23, 2009

Schools should report to Cabell Hall, UVA Campus, for On-Site Registration on Friday, January 23, from 10:00a -1:00p. 

 

All students and judges must be present. 

¨ All completed letters of Single-Intent for double-entried students.

¨ Completed Signature sheets for both Speech/Debate and Congress.

¨ Hard copies of all oratories (including bibliography), and all cuttings of Duo, DI, and HI pieces.

¨ A check, payable to NFL, for all costs referenced on your invoice.
