Student

Congress

Student Congress, or Legislative Debate, is a forensics event that conducts itself according to the rules and format of the United States Congress.  Students should submit a piece of properly formatted legislation in one of the four areas: Domestic, International, Virginia, or Economy (DIVE).  The Clerk of Congress will predetermine the docket of legislation for each Congress, based on the time each piece of legislation is submitted and cycling through each of the DIVE areas.   Legislation submitted past the 5 p.m. deadline will be placed on the bottom of the docket and cannot be debated until the entire docket has been debated.

Below, please find your regional tournament and submit or view legislation.  When printing the legislation packet, adjust the printer margins for your printer so that each piece of legislation is printed on a separate piece of paper.  Congressors should bring a complete copy of the legislation packet with them to the tournament.
